Flowers, all the way around

In 1893 Henri Moissan pulled bright crystals from an Arizona meteorite crater and misread them. Today that mineral is grown in a lab. Here it is set as flowers, link after link.

Flowers of nine lab-grown moissanites, every stone in claws. 925 sterling silver.

Something hit Arizona

An iron meteorite struck the high desert and left a crater three quarters of a mile across. It is still there.

The chemist who first isolated fluorine, and who would win the Nobel Prize for it, began sifting fragments from the crater.

Eleven years of work proved them to be silicon carbide. In 1905 George Kunz named the mineral moissanite, after him.

Moissanite against diamond

Side by side

Dispersion is how much color a stone throws. Moissanite throws more than a diamond does.

Two colourless round brilliant stones under one light. The stone on the left throws saturated orange, green and violet fire. The stone on the right stays cool and white.

Questions

Before you choose

Is moissanite just a fake diamond?+
No. It is its own mineral — silicon carbide — first found by Henri Moissan in an Arizona meteorite crater in 1893. It is not an imitation of anything, and it throws more fire than a diamond does: 0.104 against 0.044. The stones on this bracelet are grown in a lab, never mined.
Will it fit?+
It comes in one length and closes with a clasp set in line with the stones. There is no extension chain, so it does not adjust. Email info@mossante.com with your wrist size before you order and we will tell you how it fits.
What makes it a tennis bracelet?+
Stones all the way around, on short links that bend with the wrist, so it lies as one line of light. Here the stones are set as flowers of nine, a larger one at the center, with a link of two stones between each flower.
Will it tarnish? How do I care for it?+
It is 925 sterling silver, and silver can darken with time; perfume, lotion and pool water hurry it. Put it on last, take it off for pools and the sea, wipe it with a soft cloth, and keep it in its box.
Is it for every day, or for occasions?+
Both. A full line of stones reads dressed up, at a wedding or a dinner, but the links lie flat and nothing hangs from it, so it can stay on at a desk the next morning.
When will it arrive, and what if it is not right?+
Free and tracked, to the US and worldwide. It ships within 2 to 5 business days, then allow 6 to 10 business days for delivery in the US; international orders can take a little longer. Then 30 days to send it back unworn in its box for a refund; return postage is yours.
How do I reach you, or order more than two?+
Email info@mossante.com. A person answers, usually within one working day. Write to the same address for a larger order or a change to your order. If it is a gift, tell us and we will leave the prices off the paperwork.
